| Archipettoli |
As if perched on top of the hill, this villa peers out over the surrounding countryside, spying rows of vineyards and groves of olive trees. From its location, Villa Archipettoli enjoys a breathtaking view of a territory rich with details, shaped and built by mankind from the beginning of ancient times.

Having changed hands several times over the centuries, Villa Archipettoli was first owned by the Cavalcanti, then Gini and finally Strozzi families. History particularly remembers Filippo Strozzi who, after having fought against the Medici, was taken prisoner and placed in the Fortezza da Basso in Florence , where he preferred to kill himself rather than remain captive. The villa was subsequently confiscated in 1599 by Duke Alessandro dei Medici, and sold to the Ospedale di Santa Maria Nuova, remaining among its holdings for centuries. In the IX century, Villa Archipettoli became, once again, property of the Strozzi family. |

The villa lies just a few minutes from the town of San Casciano Val di Pesa, made important by its proximity to the Via Cassia (road still bearing the name of the principle Roman route), along which one can admire sites of both historic and artistic importance.
The imposing edifice, with its stone walls, is emblematic of ancient Tuscan rural residences. In fact, one of the main attractions of this land is that rural life continues many of its age-old traditions, still preserved in the memory of its inhabitants and with tangible vestiges appearing here and there. |
|
The villa is enclosed in a large private garden, sloping gently with the contours of the hillside.
Just a few steps from the house lies a large swimming pool, ready to refresh and enliven summer days. Equipped with lounge chairs, it is ideal for moments of total relax and for enjoying the surrounding panorama embellished with bright flowers, and olive and cypress tress.
Rising up in the distance, it is possible to catch a view of the Apennines and the Apuane Alps, mountain chains gracing the Tuscan horizon. |
