| Villa Il Casato |
| Il Casato, an ancient manor house belonging to the estate of the same name, was erected at the beginning of the XVII century on behalf of the Borghesi, a family of Sienese nobles. |

Originally situated in the ancient Comune of Monticchiello, later, towards the end of the XVIII century, Il Casato became part of the Comune of Pienza. Standing out against the splendid backdrop of the Val d'Orcia, the villa's location is perfect for those who wish to visit the many sites found in the area, all famous for their historical, natural and eno-gastronomic features.
The ancient edifice of Il Casato, surrounded by groves of oak and olive trees, overlooks green pastures, golden wheat fields and colorful fragrant underbrush such as the flowering yellow broom, all of these transforming the terrain's contours into a revel of muted hues. |

The Casato, with its 360° panorama, provides a spectacular view also of the imposing formations of the Crete Senesi , their impressive nude crests and curves emerging from the blanket of pastel colors. Close-up, these pilasters of crumbling clay reveal candid shells, fascinating remnants of the seabed where they once lay.

Originally the residence of several farming families, the Casato is today a luxurious and comfortable villa, standing above the whole valley and boasting a spectacular view of the impressive Crete Senese. Here one can get a taste of rural life while enjoying comforts such as the large swimming pool surrounded by greenery.
Attached to the house is a large cool patio with an authentic wood-burning oven, perfect for the traditional Tuscan dishes prepared, on request, by Signora Serena, the lady of the house and an authentic and skilled chef. |

The owners of the villa, the Gonzi family, both live and work here. Their family welcomes guests with the sincere generosity characteristic of the Tuscan countryside. Among these, the Gonzi family is especially proud of their Olio Extra Vergine of Il Casato and the Wine originating from their own vineyards, along with seasonal Fresh Products grown in their vegetable garden.
