Il Castelletto
Situated towards the center of the Val d'Orcia Natural Reserve, Villa Castelletto is an extraordinary ivy-covered stone house which, standing out above the valley and enjoying a fabulous view, is dressed in a verdant mantle of iridescent hues spanning from bright green to flaming red.

The Val d'Orcia, harmonious in its perfect symmetry and naturally sun-basked and with ample vistas, spreads out in a soft undulating fabric of rippling hills. Its terrain offers up the vivid colors of its clays and golden tuffaceous rock, together with the changeable hues of its lines of vineyards, its silvery groups of olive trees and its cypress lined roads crowning the hills. All of this has, for centuries, provided inspiration for both poets and artists, just as today such a suggestive landscape still continues to enchant visitors.
Il Castelletto, property of a famous architect, has been restored with great heed being paid to the traditional Tuscan culture found it its forms and details, all of this magically integrated with all the most modern comforts, which provide guests with a captivating world in which to spend their dream vacation.

Completely private and far from traffic and stress, the villa is nevertheless not completely isolated, although it is nicely situated within a carefully tended garden of fragrant plants and flowers amidst centuries-old olive trees that, just like the house itself, represents a harmonious ensemble of private enclaves melding delightfully with the surrounding countryside.

Guests can enjoy sunny days relaxing in the cool entry courtyard where flowered pergolas offer cool shade, or, instead, find refreshing leisure in and around the large swimming pool.

The main access to the house is from the loggia, where one enters a large studio next to an ancient fire place. All the spaces, which seem to be caressed by their massive ancient arches, are embellished with precious decorations ranging from paintings and sculptures to ceramic objects and the terracotta flooring which is found throughout the house.

The kitchen, with its own separate outdoor entrance, is bright, large and country-style, completely equipped with all the modern appliances necessary for preparing delicious meals, even for large groups.

A personal chef can be arranged to prepare excellent meals served on elegant dishware accompanied by silver serving dishes and crystal perfectly suitable for sipping a prized ruby-colored Brunello wine of intense and harmonious aromas.
From here, not far from the historical hamlets of Montepulciano, Pienza and Monticchiello, guests can easily visit the 'heart' of Tuscany, tasting its wines, oils and famous cheeses, and eating in tiny restaurants where one can truly appreciate the special hospitality typical of the local countryside.
A bit further out from the 'heart', one can travel to Siena, Florence, Arezzo and San Gimignano; or, when longing for sacred serenity, one can opt for a visit to one of the ancient abbeys like Sant'Antimo, from the Carolingian epoch, a masterpiece of Romanesque art.
