Casa di Panzano

Casa di Panzano, a more than 150 year old farmhouse, is situated on the western edge of the valley of Conca d'oro, the valley of the golden mussel, which constitutes one of the top vine territories in the Chianti, from here you will discover one of the most affascinating areas of Tuscany, taste the real Fiorentina steak and the pecorino cheese in its medieval villages. In the local shops you will be able to taste the typical tuscan "salumi" followed by the most prestige wines in the world.

Being built on a hillside facing westwards guests can enjoy a beautiful and unrestricted view from most rooms, the balcony, ideal for a romantic dinner and the swimming pool in stone surrounded by olive trees, ideal to relax under the sun, into a typical tuscan landscape stretching from the former monastery 'Rignana' to San Donato and to Tavernelle in the far horizon. Amazing and fascinating not only at sunset!

Casa di Panzano is tranquil but not remote. The well known tourist places on the Chianti wine route Greve and Panzano are 5 km respectively 4 km away.

The farmhouse offers guests complete privacy as they are the only residents of the estate.

The apartment in the main building is 210 mē and was recently completely refurbished so that guests can enjoy the features of a tuscan farmhouse and the comfort of a new villa.

Brief history of Panzano:
The name of the village of Panzano is of Roman origin but the settlement is older since Etruscan finds have been made in the neighbourhood. The first documentary evidence is 11 C, when the development of the "borgo", the village around the castle, took place.

The castle stands on a ridge separating the Val di Greve from the Val di Pesa, exactly halfway between Florence and Siena, between which it was always a source of contention. The castle is now private, but the courtyard and the surroundings can be visited, and the houses along the downhill road have a mediaeval character. There are some remnants of the old Roman paved roads, the Senice, which are still in use.
Guests are also allowed to eat and pick our aromatic herbs and fruits from our vegetable garden.
