Giardino del Belvedere
In the middle of the Chianti Hills,
tucked away amongst ancient oak trees and olive groves, stands an old stone farmhouse... |
|
The villa was built more than 300 years ago, and in 1997 it was fully restructured with the use of hand-made
special material following the bio-architecture rudiment. The villa is in the middle of a 32 acres (13 hectares) of private property kept as a natural botanic
garden (Giardino del Belvedere) with olive trees, meadows and groves of secular oaks trees. Lovingly restored by the owners, using only natural materials, the original character of the house has
been carefully preserved.

| Extensive natural garden stretch out towards the mountains on the horizon, with inviting pathways witch
meander through meadows of wild flowers. |

| The house itself reflects the total peace and tranquillity of its surroundings. The rooms are spacious, furnished with antiques, yet offering every modern convenience. Giardino del Belvedere is a house for all seasons. The old stone walls keep it cool in the summer sun, while great open fireplaces offer warmth and comfort
during cooler months. |

The Garden
Giardino del Belvedere is situated on a knoll that is part of the gentle slopes of the Chianti hills facing the Arno valley; it is flanked by two streams, the Pozzo ai Diavoli and the Rimaggio.
Extending over 32 acres, the land is largely covered by groves of oaks, ample meadows, and olive trees from long ago.
This place, where nature has created her own world with advice from no one, is perfect for a garden.
One's thoughts and steps wander freely with no constrictions, within the measure of nature, forever authentic and never subject to fashions or trends.
In this land, inhabited since ancient times and testimony to the fluctuating tides of history, lies a natural garden. |

The Theatre
In the wood of centuries-old oaks above the house, there is a theatre in perfect harmony with nature.
It was constructed with stones from the nearby woods, arranged one on top of the other, without mortar,
forming 5 semi-circular rows of seats for spectators.
The theatre is a particularly evocative spot suitable for just about any type of gathering from
conferences to film projections, concerts, plays; a place also suitable for spending long periods of
time with no specific purpose in mind. |
