Villa Valiana
At a few hundred metres from the road that links Montepulciano to Cortona you get to a road track that runs along the ridge of a hill covered in vineyards and it is at this point around a corner that a secret view is revealed: Tuscany to the left with its soft undulating hills and Umbria to the right and as if depicted by the stroke of a brush a blue line - Lago Trasimeno.
This superb Villa is located in one of the most acclaimed and beautiful parts of Tuscany: La Valdorcia, very near to the characteristic town of Montepulciano famous the world over for its wine ‘Nobile di Montepulciano’ and close to the wild and fascinating region of Umbria and Lago Trasimeno.

Not only is this area dotted with splendid and unique medieval hamlets and towns, Valdorica is renowned for its scenery, its famous wines (Brunello di Montalcino e Nobile di Montepulciano), its excellent goat’s cheese .
Along with the tall cypress trees which frame the many roads and country lanes this area retains many local traditions and craftsmanship and feel of the past.
Colours of the earth range from the yellow of the corn to the gray-brown of the ploughed land to the vibrant yellows of the sunflower and greens of the vines, olive and woods….a unique array of colours which will remain in the memory of the observer forever.

An elegant luxurious Villa with a façade of yellow and Tuscan terracotta, it is resplendent in the morning sunlight which rises over the lake, and at sunset is warm and majestic with its brickwork ‘Torretta’.
Viewed from beneath an intricate play of beams, balconies and terraces , extends a vast panorama of rolling hills with lines cypress trees , distant hamlets and row upon row of vineyards scattered with clusters of olive groves.
Framing the valley are the red roofs of Cortona, the contours of Montepulciano, and the remote outline of Mount Amiata set against a blue canvas of the Tuscan sky.
From the driveway lined by cypress trees, you slowly reach the main entrance via gravelled steps flanked by rose bushes and wild box hedges leading to a white stoned doorway.
Throughout the Villa large picture windows decorated in wrought iron open onto the vineyard and onto the garden, interspersed with rose tubs, lemon trees , Bouganvillae, plum trees, apple trees, persimonn and figs trees which together emanate a sweet scent reminiscent of the countryside and all things good.
The large rooftop pool completely immersed in the green of the vineyard and in the silver of the olive groves is the ideal place to spoil yourself either in the whirpool or in the shade of the umbrellas or gazebo.
From here you can savour the delights of local produce or enjoy a fine wine admiring the splendid views around you.

The villa has it's own vegetable garden and is available for the guest.
